Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Update Class
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support Update Course (PALS) is recommended for medical professionals that have taken a PALS Provider Course or the PALS update class in the past two years. This is a renewal class.
The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The PALS course reinforces the important concepts of a systematic approach in pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
The American Heart Association requires students to have the current, 2015, PALS Manual to use before, during and after the class. Manuals can be purchased on-line (Amazon) and through the American Heart Association at: https://ebooks.heart.org.
Before taking the PALS course, students must pass the online PALS Pre-course Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher. The code to access the Pre-course Self-Assessment is "pals15".
